Sandeep Raheja inherits wealth from realty tycoon Gopal Raheja
Gopal Raheja fought his son Sandeep Raheja and daughter-in-law Durga until his last breath in March but the real estate tycoon has left all his estate and properties to his son. Raheja is the founder of Rs 11,000-crore worth realty group. He had accused his son, Sandeep Raheja, of trying to usurp his entire business consisting of 25 companies.
Raheja had expressed his willingness to consider an out-of-court settlement in this matter in March, 2012. No out-of-court settlement was reached as the case was in court at the time of his death. The next hearing was scheduled this month. He was 80 years of age.
GL Raheja group was known for residential developments across central Mumbai’s Worli and suburbs of Bandra, Khar, Santacruz and Juhu. The group is one of the biggest private owners of land in Mumbai, and has properties abroad through its subsidiaries.
