Santacruz-Chembur Link sees chinks
The Eastern Expressway Highway which is located in the heart of Mumbai is known for all its snail paced traffic. Cars here go over 80 km per hour as they go over the second tier.
The Santacruz Chembur Link Road which is about 6.45 kilometres long had been built with the intention of cutting down the travel time and making it much shorter. They happen to be between the two most important arteries of the city which is Eastern Expressway and Western Express Highways.
The project which was neglected earlier was commissioned finally this year in the month of April. Earlier a ride on the Santacruz Chembur Link Road would take a whole hour. The new link road has reduced the travel time to only 30 minutes.
The project which had been delayed this year in the month of April had been successful enough to reach its goals during all non-peak hours. According to Tabarak Ansari who happens to be an auto driver has mentioned that the customers seem pretty happy now. Earlier the auto drive which cost a lot of money has now been reduced significantly.
