The Haryana government and the Gurgaon Collector have received orders from the Supreme Court with regard to the disclosure of all the sale deeds which have been executed between landowners and private builders, related to a 1,400-acre of land in the Gurgaon district.

The expansive 1,400-acre land about which the SC has sought all details from the Haryana government and the Gurgaon Collector has been acquired for developing Sectors 58 to 63 and Sectors 65 to 67 in Gurgaon, for urban residential and commercial use.

The details pertaining to the 1,400-acre land area – which lies in Sohna tehsil – have been sought by a bench of Justices J S Khehar and Arun Mishra. Since the mentioned expanse of land was initially proposed to be acquired for public purposes, the Justices have asked the authorities to explain as to how and by whom has the massive chunk of land been acquired.

The bench of Justices has also asked the Gurgaon Collector to file an affidavit, providing the list of all the deals between the landowners and private entities, as well as other requisite information pertaining to the 1,400-acre land.

The bench clearly stated: “The Collector, Gurgaon, is being specifically informed that in case he omits to mention the details of any such coloniser or builder, he shall be personally responsible and it shall not be open to him to state that complete information was not furnished to him by his subordinates.”
