Sewage Overflow at Siddapura Lake in Bangalore

1 Comment Sub Category:Bangalore,Civic Issues,Municipality Posted On: May 09, 2012

There is no civic body to take care of sewage water overflow at Siddapura Lake near Thobaralli and this has set a classic example of neglection shown by the civic authorities.

The sewage water, which is flowing from thousands of dwellings including BEML Layout, ASC Layout and various apartments at different localities in Bangalore,  is getting mixed into Siddapura Lake since many years.

This layout was formed by BEML Cooperative Society as per the Bangalore Development Authority’s (BDA) guidelines, but now it is in the hands of BBMP.

Knowing the situation, neither BBMP nor the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has taken required steps to improve this  civic situation.

In context with the same, one of the environment officers of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) claims to have filed a case against the BEML Residents’ Welfare Association and BWSSB engineers.
