Sewage overflow causing problem in Chennai
Residents across Chennai have been complaining about sewage overflow for the last few months. However, the civic bodies are yet to take up any action to address the issue.
Residents of Sixth Street, R.V.Nagar, Anna Nagar, have been putting up with stench, flies and sewage on the road. Sewage has been overflowing from manholes in Janakiraman Garden, Ambedkar College Road and Vyasarpadi.
Residents of R.V. Nagar said some of the houses in the area have been experiencing reverse flow of sewage from the underground sewerage network. The problem has aggravated and residents of Raja Street, T. Nagar, etc. have complained of stench in the piped-water supply and are forced to use packaged drinking water.
