Everyone is aware of the fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to create 100 smart cities which may take some years to exist as reality. However the experiments for the information technology that will be involved in making of these smart cities shall start as early as this year’s Diwali at the Electronic City in Bangalore. The government want to start the project as fast as possible this is chiefly why the work related to the construction of these 100 smart cities will commence this year.

Last week, the union budget presided over by finance minister; Arun Jaitley announced an allocation of Rs 7,060 crore for the making of 100 smart cities in India. In the upcoming months, the data for public utility services for around a stretch of 5 km at Electronics City which would include parking facility, safety and security, streetlights and water management  has been set to be open to private companies for the creation of smart parking facilities, city surveillance system and solutions in traffic management.

This project of smart cities will not only benefit the various cities where the project will commence but also help several domestic information technology companies as well as domestic labour. This project is being deemed as a next step forward towards development for India.
