SMC sanctioned 680 new construction plans
In the phase of recession in real estate sector, the surat city developers have not stopped developing new residential buildings. In this financial year the civic body approved 680 plans of new construction which is double than approved in three year ago.
In the year 2010-11 Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) Town planning (TP) department had sanctioned 278 new development projects. While in 2011-12 it approved 472 plans and in 2012-13 it approved 677 projects whereas in 2013-14 till march it has already sanctioned 680 new construction plans and this figure is likely to be increased by the end of this year.
An official from town planning department says that new area development process is moving in full speed in Varacha. This motivates the developers to do more construction in those areas.
Mr. Jivan Patel, Director of planning SMC, says that our city is expanding fast and the effects that are felt on other places are not effected here.
In last 2 years SMC approved 119 and 124 new projects in Rander zone respectively while it sanctioned 132 and 147 plans in Varacha zone and approved maximum of 202 and 198 plans in Athwa zone of the city respectively.
