Sonia to inaugurate Rs 2,000-cr road projects
Congress president Sonia Gandhi is expected to inaugurate a road projects worth almost R2, 000 crore in her constituency Rae Bareli on February 24. The four projects will lead to smooth connectivity with the corridors that link the state to different parts of the country by linking her constituencies with the neighbouring districts in Uttar Pradesh.
While the 133-km Rae Bareli-Banda highway would be built at a cost of R424.29 crore and would connect the VIP district to Bundelkhand, the 146.5-km Rae Bareli-Tanda highway would be built at a cost of R636 crore. While these two highways are to be built on EPC, the third project, Rae Bareli-Jaunpur, will be built on BOT/annuity and would cost R569.36 crores, covering 166.4 kms. The fourth project is the 18-km Rae Bareli ring road, which is to be built at a cost of R302 crore.
The foundation-laying ceremony of all the four projects was expected on February 24 and work on them would be completed within 30 months as confirmed by an NHAI official.
