Stadium Construction in Thiruvananthapuram has got Special Zone Status
The state government has declared the construction site of Greenfield international stadium at Kariavattom as a special zone. The construction work of the stadium was inaugurated on 8th May.
The special zone status is awarded to the construction of the stadium to ensure the timely completion of the project in Thiruvananthapuram.
The construction of the stadium will be done in a unique public private partnership initiative. It will also incorporate a range of environment friendly initiatives, including extensive use of solar panels and rainwater harvesting.
After The construction of the stadium, the real estate in Thiruvananthapuram will get a new dimension in the state.
The construction of the stadium will cost Rs 161 crore. The total capacity of the stadium will be around 50,000. It is planned to host the opening and closing ceremonies of the 35th National Games in this stadium.
