State government permits to construct homes in agriculture land
The state government of Karnataka will permit to construct homes on the agriculture land for the villagers to promote the housing policy for the poor.
This facility will be given to the SC/ST communities, and they will be able to avail benefits like home loan and subsidy under different housing schemes of the State and Central governments.
The Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation had difficulty in finding suitable land in villages for the formation of housing sites.
They recommended the government to allow to construct a house in Karnataka on their own agricultural land with government assistance.
The corporation also recommended that only two guntas of farm land will be allowed for construction of houses and the area of construction should not cross 1200 sq ft.
