State’s agenda to get accurate data on agricultural land

No Comments Sub Category:Cities,Pune,Realty News Posted On: Nov 20, 2012

The civic body in Pune has taken steps to produce appropriate information about agricultural land to avoid confusion between various departments.

The agricultural department needs proper data about the total area available for agriculture as every year argicultural land is converted into non-agriculture zone and used for infrastructure, building homes, or residential complexes. The up to date information will keep the department updated about the developments happening.

Vikhe Patil, State agriculture and marketing minister, said that the details were discussed with the high authorities and the availability of essential goods were estimated.

Many a times, the planning went imperfect as there was unexpected drop or rise in availability due to wrong data generation process. So, now, the civic body has given the responsibility to the district and block level agriculture officials.
