StayWell Hospitality: Rapid Expansion Plans in India to by 2017
FDI is changing the face of Indian real estate. And the latest add on to this segment is the investment of StayWell Hospitality Group of Australia who will be investing around USD 20 million in India. This step taking by the group is with a keen eye to spread their wings in India 18 hotels by 2017 for the mid and upper segments.
StayWell Hospitality Group already hold two properties in India at Jaipur and Gurgaon, and with this new plan, they are likely to spread to metros and cities like Delhi-NCR, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bangalore, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Kolkata ,Ahmedabad, Goa and Hyderabad. The group currently operates under two brands in India i.e Park Regis for the upper class and Leisure Inn for middle class.
The Group’s Chief Executive and Managing Director Simon Wan told media that they are planning to add 20 properties in India for taking the group’s total to 100 properties by 2017. Simon is optimistic about the huge scope of business in a fast growing economy like India.
The plan of the group, as reveled by Wan is to open five hotels within the coming six months as the first phase. This includes Park Regis in Jaipur and Goa and Leisure Inn in Hyderabad and Mumbai. In Mumbai, the commercial capital of India, they are planning for 2 properties. The funding will be done by Staywell for the upcoming project and he added that for growth the group has set a path like opening new Greenfield hotels, acquisitions and rebranding of existing hotels.
Rohit Vig, Managing Director of StayWell Hospitality Group said that Bangalore, Chennai, Raipur, NCR, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Visakhapatnam are the major places where the company eyes to set its business.
The StayWell Hospitality Group is an Australian based independent hospitality grou,p started its journey in 2006 with five hotels. Today the group manages 34 properties around the Asia Pacific region with Park Inn and Leisure Inn as their high profile brands. Currently their team strength is above 1300 employees. StayWell also has plans in the Middle East and Europe.
