Stray dogs continue to haunt the residents of Erode
Stray dog menace plagues residents of Erode town, as the authorities here have failed to initiate any concrete efforts to control the menace. Due to this, people in many residential colonies in the town live in constant fear and hesitate to venture out after dark.
At least 20 to 25 dogs can be found on every street in the town. As you walk down the dusty roads of the town, stray dogs can be spotted around every corner, feasting on rotting garbage and chasing residents. It has become very common to see schoolchildren being chased by stray dogs on the streets. It has also led to an increase in the number of accidents involving two-wheeler riders.
Residents live in constant fear and incidence of dog bites is increasing day by day, according to the people.
