Strict fire norms for high rise apartments
The fire safety department is planning to file cases for those commercial and residential properties who will not follow the fire safety rule.
The departments has identified 71 high rises who have failed to follow the fire safety norms.
The law says that if the complex does not have proper fire safety mechanism, the offenders will be punished with jail term up to 3 months or a fine of upto Rs 50,000.
The housing societies of high rising apartments must appoint fire safety officer to monitor and maintain the fire safety systems.
The department will not issue the No objection certificate (NOC) of those buildings who failed to adhere the fire safety norms.
