Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces achieves $10 million growth
Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces mentioned that they have completed a US $ 10-million expansion at its Sri Lankan property, the Gateway Hotel Airport Garden Colombo. The Colombo hotel is jointly owned by Mukesh Advani and Prakash Advani, and the Hirdaramani family with 50 per cent shares each.
The hotel is managed and operated by the Taj Group, which also operates two other properties in Sri Lanka at Colombo and Bentota under the Taj and Vivanta brands respectively. While the Gateway Hotel doubled its rooms to 200 to meet the growing demand and has refurbished the lobby.
The company also mentioned the theme of the latest block which is consisting of 98 rooms and 2 suites which has been finalized as an idea of including a modern view of Sri Lanka and caters to all segments of MICE, leisure, corporate and transit travelers.
The company has invested 10 million USD for the growth of this project.
Mr. Rohit Khosla, Gruop area director, Taj Sri Lanka says that the nearness to the airport and the constant growth of Sri Lankan tourism will provides the chance to increase the inventory of company.
