Target Raised by 2.5 Times by Government for the sake of Road Projects
The road transport ministry has established four highly efficient parameters for itself soon after returning from Prime Minister’s Chamber. The minister is planning target rewards for the Projects on National Highways.
The present target for the road transport ministry that has been timed for this fiscal succeeds that of 2013-2014 by 2.5 times! The previous demand was to construct 8.7 km road per day but this time, the demand has increased to 23.3 km per day.
The main motive of highway construction has been boosted by almost 50%. In the last financial year, the road transport minister had clearly highlighted that apart from building NHAI with the speed of 17.3 kmpd, his team will also plan to build or construct 6300 km around the country, by the advent of March.
The road transport ministry official says that the ministry is trying to push in more awards for construction projects as in the past month and a half. They have noticed a significant improvement as private workers are assigned to deal with projects under the funding procedure of the government.
Government officials of the ministry of road transport are quite eager to finish this construction at a pace almost 2.5 times greater than that of the previous year.
There is another plan in blue prints which is mainly to replace all the plazas on National Highways with electronic toll collection genre. This is also known as ETC when abbreviated. The officials are planning to finish this project by the end of this financial year. This target is about 10 times better and bigger than the previous schemes. Fastags are voluntary smart tags which can be controlled from a control room. Therefore, the ministry had a super launch of the Fastags device so that we have interoperable tags in every toll plaza. Minister has also set the target of road death to diminish by 2000. In the year 2013, road fatalities were just 686 less than last year.
