Tata Group’s Gateway Hotels planning three launches in Sept-Oct
The Tata Group’s upscale hotel chain Gateway Hotels has revealed in a recent announcement that three new launches have been planned by the company for the September and October — a period when the Indian hospitality sector is abuzz with activity.
The locations for the three formal openings planned by Gateway Hotels include Pune, Raipur, and Gurgaon (near Damdama). Specifically speaking, the openings will witness the formal launch of a 160-key property in Pune; a 112-key property at Raipur; and an 80-key property at Gurgaon.
The announcement of three new launches by Gateway Hotels comes at a time when a number of sectors are hopeful of a revival in the economy under the new Government. During the last two years, the hospitality sector witnessed a rather lean phase, with occupancy in most of the leading hotels having plunged to 50 percent.
Announcing the three forthcoming launches, Tata Gateway’s chief operating officer Pravat S Verma said that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s thumping win – under Narendra Modi headship – will have a positive impact on the hospitality sector in India in the coming months.
Pointing out that the sentiment in the hospitality market, as of now, is “overriding,” Verma said: “It’s a slow process and given that the past couple of years have been harsh, things could only improve from the present situation.”
