No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Aug 22, 2014

In order to improve the economy, IT services firm Tata Consultancy Services is leasing 920,000 square feet of office space in the national capital region -about 420,000 sq ft in a Noida building owned by IDFC it had bought from DLF a few years ago, and about 500,000 sq ft in Gurgaon from international builder Hines, two people with knowledge of the development said.

TCS will use part of the space to consolidate its offices in different parts of Noida and Gurgaon while the rest will be used for expansion, said one of the persons, not wanting to be named. Companies on an average allocate about 80 sq ft of space per person in their offices, which would mean 920,000 sq ft can accommodate over 11,000 employees.

A spokesman for TCS said that according to their policy, they do not comment on business transactions. A spokesman for Hines declined to comment. An email questionnaire sent to IDFC went unanswered. The space in Gurgaon will be spread over two 250,000 sq ft buildings in Hines’ Skyview Corporate Park project, which will eventually have 1.7 million sq ft of office space when completed. Several companies across industries such as IT, consultancy and e-commerce have been leasing office space to plan their expansion when the economy gets back on track under a stable government at the Centre.
