Telangana CM asks corporation officials to demolish illegal constructions in Hyderabad
The officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation have received directives from Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhara Rao, to deal strictly with illegal constructions in the city.
Rao has also told the corporation that if a strict dealing with illegal constrictions in Hyderabad requires the demolition of such constructions which have built without permission, the corporation would also be free to seek the help of the police authorities.
In an official press statement released on Monday, Rao asserted that the demolition of illegal constructions in Hyderabad can be undertaken by the officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation without the need of any advance notice to the developers or residents.
However, Rao also said that, for constructions which have the requisite building permissions, but have been come up with deviations in the permitted structures, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation may serve a demolition notice before it actually takes action. The notice will be a caution to the residents that the corporation has efforts underway to demolish unauthorized structures.
As per the press release, the Chief Minister also apparently indicated that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation would initiate the demolition action for the protection of Hyderabad’s Gurukul Trust lands, which he wants to be restored to the government.
