The expensive Metro rides might be given a miss by CM

The Mumbai Metro which was in so much anticipation earlier has now been involved in a dispute over the matter of tariff. This occurred a day before the commencement of the operation which had the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority moving towards Bombay High Court on the matter of fare hike. This case will be discussed at the court on Monday.

The chief minister of Maharashtra, Mister Prithviraj Chavan mentioned that he would be inaugurating the service. This will help in reducing the congestion of traffic at roads and streets and will provide quite a bit of a relief to all commuters who were using the suburban railway which was overburdened. However, this would happen only if the Mumbai Metro One would agree to stick the real tariff which has been mentioned in the tender.

The board of MMOPL has been now ordered to fix the initial fare and not state government on its own. There are 11 members of the board of MMOPL and around 8 of them are from Reliance whereas three belong to the state of Maharashtra. The cost of development per square kilometer is pretty expensive with the elevated portions costing much more.
