No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Jul 28, 2014

The Sivaramakrishnan Committee was appointed by the Centre to facilitate identification of site for the creation of the new capital in Andhra Pradesh. This committee will hold meetings with the State Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday to discuss the various options.

The State has clearly specified its interest to set up the capital between Vijayawada and Guntur cities as it is suitable for the new capital. This area has the necessary support infrastructure including rail junction, river, airport and four lane roads. The central government has mandated the committee to give options for new capital based on its assessment of infrastructure in the State. However the final say is in the hands of the state. The chief minister mentioned that it is the prerogative of the State to decide where the capital can be located.

Several expert agencies have approached the State to be associated with the formation of the new capital. The good news is that experts from Malaysia and Singapore have also evinced interest to be part of the capital development. Global consultancy services provider McKinsey & Company has also expressed its interest to be part of the development of the capital in the residual State of Andhra Pradesh which should bring a lot of cheer to the state.
