The reason why project clearances take time
Project clearances take time because the project needs clearances from at least 40 different government agencies before it is officially ready. The clearances are taken basically during the planning, design, construction and occupancy phases. However this does not cause hindrance and is definitely not an excuse for the building agencies to delay the construction. But the clearance problem however hampers the planning phase. The clearance phases however vary from state to state.
The various clearance phases in Maharastra are as follows:
Submission of details of the proposal of projects
The building of proposal of department: Time taken 3 to 8 days
Issuing certificate of completion (CC)
Clearance time in executive engineer’s office: 1 month
Installation of lift and other operations
Installation of a department of public works: 45 to 60 days
Issuing occupancy certificates
Clearance time in building department: Time taken 2 months
These clearance phases however vary from one state to another but the time taken is more or less same. The official works thus take a lot of time before the project is officially deemed complete.
