Three new hospitals to be set up by Fortis Healthcare
Fortis Healthcare has revealed in a recent announcement that efforts are underway to set up three new Fortis Healthcare hospitals in 2014. These hospitals will be set up in Bangalore, Ludhiana, and Chennai.
The announcement made with regard to the setting up of new hospitals came during the recent inauguration of the Oncology Institute of Fortis, Mohali, by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
Along with the announcement about three new hospitals to be set up, Fortis Healthcare also revealed that its key focus areas will be oncology and women’s health. The company’s officials said that Fortis Healthcare plans to make the Mohali hospital a specialised cancer care provider; and will also provide oncology treatment at its existing hospitals in Ludhiana and Amritsar.
About the new hospitals, Fortis Healthcare’s Executive Chairman Mohan Singh and Executive Vice-Chairman Shivinder Mohan Singh said that it is in Bangalore that the first specialised women care hospital — the 100-bed Fortis La Femme hospital — is being set up. This hospital will be commissioned during 2014 itself.
The second Fortis Healthcare hospital will be the 100-bed women specialty hospital which is being set up in Ludhiana; and will be operational by the end of this year. The third hospital, with 250-bed capacity, is being up in Chennai; and will become operational in the next quarter.
