Titan focuses on expansion drive, strengthens Fastrack, Hipster range
The Titan Eye Plus has planned for major expansion of its retail network of stores, to add 50-60 new stores across the country in 2014-15. The company wants to improve the image of its brands, including Fastrack, Hipster and Glares.
Titan Company Ltd which is part of Tata group opened its 96th store in South India and expects to hit the 100 stores mark in very little time. The group is operating 278 stores in 106 cities of India.
Mr. S. Ravi Kanth, Chief Executive Officer of the Eyewear Division of Titan Company Ltd, says that the company is the process of completing the plans for the next year and hopes to add 50 to 60 new stores because the demand of branded eyewear stores is increasing. He further says that there is high demand of branded eye ware in a fragmented industry segment. He also added that the numbers of buyers is increasing. The buyers are mainly professionals who are keen to use lenses to protect their eyes from computer.
The company introduced its new range of Fastrack optical eyewear and concluded that they will soon introduce the Hipster range which is the international trend and provides retro look. The group is also focusing to launch a diverse range of sun glasses.
The company is planning to open new lens manufacturing factory in the North or East. The lens manufacturing unit in Chikkaballapur near Mangalore is fully utilized.
