TNHB buildings paused from redevelopment
The redevelopment work of around 50 apartments in areas like; Anna Nagar, Besant Nagar, Shanthi Colony and Adyar are paused in legal battles.
The issues between apartment owners and the Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) has left the apartment owners stay in rented houses.
The issue is all about implementing a 10 percent increase the cost for extra floor space index – FSI in the built up area.
Follow up to this the problem of issuing no-objection certificates (NOC) for further developments.
Meanwhile, Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority and the Chennai Corporation have also been a part of delay by not providing plan approvals and building permits without an NOC from TNHB.
Midst all these blame game the apartment owners are facing tough time taking possession of their spaces originally promoted by TNHB.
