Trading allowed in residential sectors in NOIDA

Mixed land use policy has been approved in Noida by the authorities on Wednesday. Thus, allowing commercial activities in residential sectors. As per the proposal, the commercial activities will be allowed in residential areas where the width of roads is 24 meters or above. The activities like hospitals, banks, schools, ATM kiosks, Guest Houses and other business premises which were closed after Supreme Court’s order earlier, will now mushroom in the area. The move is likely to result in property boom in the city.

The proposal mandates the provision of parking facility for at least six motor vehicles in the premises and will permission for the same will be sought afresh from the competent authorities. Several properties, which were sealed for running business activities in residential Sectors 1, 2, 5, 6, 8 10, 19, 22, 27 after the Supreme Court order would be allowed to function once again. Besides, a multitude of developmental projects were announced in the region by the three industrial development authorities.

Chairman of all three authorities, Rama Raman, while presenting budget of Rs 19, 653 crore for the next financial year, laid huge emphasis on Metro expansion and said the half the budget amount would be utilized in infrastructure development. Noida Authority plans to spend Rs 1,500 crore while the Rs 300 crore will be spent by the Greater Noida Authority for the same. Rs 252 crore and Rs 275 crore were sanctioned by both authorities on medical infrastructure and sewer and water network respectively. Noida Authority will allocate Rs 500 crore on power infrastructure.

Raman further said, “As people are attracting towards Gautambudh Nagar, it is the need of the hour to develop the infrastructure of the city. We have announced various projects which will come on surface with in certain time frame.”
