Unfinished infra projects: only 38 projects finished out of 157

The Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority was rapped by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India recently. The principal secretary and state urban development department was also a vital part of this. The major reason was completion of only about 38 out of the 157 infrastructure projects.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority came up with the Mumbai Urban Infrastructure Project and was sanctioned in the year 2003. This was finally finished in the year 2006. Manu Kumar Shrivastava who happens to be the principal secretary of the urban development mentioned in the year 2013 that it has been noticed that priorities have changed from roads and bridges all the way up to public transport which includes metros as well. The Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development here came to the conclusion that they will not take up the works of Mumbai Urban Infrastructure Project which were left behind. They were earlier understood as localized or even related to the urban bodies nearby.

The Comptroller and Auditor General on the other hand has rejected this statement saying that procrastinating the project right in the middle of shifting priorities show that there has been a couple of mistakes while planning.
