UP government presents their infrastructure developmental plans
Uttar Pradesh- Although the initiatives taken by the state government were applauded by the leaders of Corporate and Industry sectors but there were few things left to work upon for infrastructural development. Thus a presentation was made by government in this regard.
This presentation included various features like construction of International airport at Kushinagar and Agra on the basis of Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, National investment and manufacturing zones in many areas of state, development of industrial estates in private sector, schemes for new industrial units along with tax exemption.
It also highlighted the amount ( Rs 23,000 crore ) of investment which is planned for the big projects in future. A concession agreement has also been signed for the proposed 2,500 km state highway project. This concession agreement is signed for four roads of worth Rs 3, 867 crore. In their 12th five year plan, the government is planning to generate 16,000 MW power capacity.
Along with this, the state is also done with the feasibility study of 11 roads of cost Rs 7,129 crore. A six lane expressway highway is also proposed between Agra and Lucknow city.
Various parks are being proposed and many are developed also. These parks are sector specific which include export promotion industrial park, apparel park, growth centre, leather technology parks /mega leather park/ leather park at Agra, textile park, food park, Moradabad SeZ, Tronica City, national investment and manufacturing zone, plastic city, trans Ganga Hi-Tech city in Kanpur, IT city and an international cricket stadium in Lucknow.
According to experts, for growth of country, the manufacturing sector contributes a lot. And for this purpose, UP state must rise by 10 to 11 percent for at least coming three years which is only possible by creating vacancies in this sector. Besides this, many industries have invested in the state for example GAIL , Retec Rubber Products, HCL Info systems Ltd and few leather industries too.
