Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu on plans in the pipeline
In a recent interview, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu has talked about various plans the ministry has in the offing.
Elaborating on Urban Development Ministry’s plan for 100 smart cities, he said that international models were being studied, and countries like France, Australia, Singapore and Japan had been requested to submit ideas and suggestions. He also talked about improving conditions around heritage cities like Ajmer.
Talking about UPA ministers’ reluctance to vacate their official bungalows, Naidu stated that he was ready to turn a blind eye to their behaviour for maybe a month more. He urged them to vacate, in order to make way for ministers of the new regime.
He also discussed plans to prevent illegal colonies from coming up in the future. Action would be initiated against any such colony, he said.
