Wakf Board hassles with encroachers over land

No Comments Sub Category:Hyderabad,Realty News Posted On: Aug 23, 2012

The tussle between Wakf  Board and encroachers seem to have no end. Complaints have been made about wakf board land falling prey to land grabbers, a two-acre graveyard on Road No. 12 Banjara Hills.

The entrance of the Third Battalion Muslim Graveyard was blocked about six months ago and the task force officer deputed by the Wakf Board to survey the premises was denied entry by security guards posted by the encroacher.

Waqf Board officials cited cases filed by locals earlier in 2006 against the same encroacher when they were stopped from entering the graveyard.

Though the city civil court had then directed that entry into the premises could not be stopped, a boundary wall was constructed and security guards were posted. The board officials stated that it has been a blatant defiance of the court order.
