Water shortage in Bangalore

Water crisis in BangaloreResidents of western, southern and south eastern parts of Bangalore are facing water crisis as Bangalore Water Supply And Sewerage Board (BWSSB) is trying hard to plug leakage in the Cauvery 4th Stage Phase I pipeline.

According to sources, the leakage occurred because of soil-testing work taken up by BMRC near Bangalore University on Mysore Road, the Metro authorities were drilling 100mm bores for extracting samples. BWSSB officials came to know about the leakage in the evening on 15th of this month.

The areas affected by water shortage includes Marenahalli, Govindarajanagar, Rajajinagar, Chandra Layout, NGEF Layout, Mudalapalya Canara Bank Colony, Mahalakshmi Layout, Nandini Layout, Vinayaka Layout, Rajarajeshwarinagar Prakash Nagar and Kengeri.
