Bangalore cityBBMP, BDA, BESCOM, BMTC and BMRCL are planning to make Bangalore city a better place to live in.

Anjum Parwez, managing director (BMTC), says that they are planning to chuck out around 755 old buses and replace them with BS-IV norm buses. They will also add more 500 BS-IV buses for new routes so that it provides relief to commuters during busy times and those buses will be more commuter-friendly, he added. The civic body will implement two cameras in 1,000 buses first and later to other buses.

Incidents of rowdyism and the cases of murder are increasing on daily basis. So the police commissioner is planning to work towards the prevention of crimes so that women in Bangalore city feel safe.

In 2013, BBMP is thinking of solving the pending garbage issue on priority basis by identifying places where garbage can be dumped.

BDA commissioner, T Sham Bhatt, says that the proposed Kempe Gowda Layout near Magadi Road will be completed this year. Moreover they are planning to complete other pending works like the completion of underpass at Kuvempu Nagar, the flyover at Belandur and the flyover at Bhadhra Layout on the Outer Ring Road. Flyovers and underpasses will also reduce the travel time.

Metro Rail from Dasarahalli to Malleswaram is expected to get completed before April 2013. The underground Metro from Chinnaswamy Stadium to Majestic and from Vani Vilas Hospital to Majestic will be completed by this year. The Metro construction work for Phase I, Reach 2 and 3 is on and the second phase of the Metro Rail project is yet to get approval from the Central Government.

The average response time of BESCOM to consumer complaints on power outage will reduce from the current 36 minutes to 15 minutes, and the resolution time from 60 minutes to 45 minutes, as pointed out by BESCOM. The RAPDRP project on automation of billing system in Bangalore by Infosys will be completed this year after which billing data will be available online.

Due to the work automation of entire Bangalore city network, power outage is expected in the day time once in a week for a month in each area.

The police whenever required will continue to cancel licences. The Traffic Management Centre will start functioning this year and there will be a 72-ft long screen to monitor the activities being caught on 175 cameras which are placed in different locations in the City. In future they will be adding more 100 cameras in the city.
