Work started by IIM Tiruchirapalli in the 172 acre campus belonging to BU
Around 172.27 acres of land has been acquired by the Indian Institute of Hotel Management located at Tiruchirapalli. This piece of land belongs to Bharathidasan University and shall be used for the construction of its buildings located at Chinna Suriyur.
The officials of the IIHM and members of the Bharathidasan University signed a memorandum of understanding so that the process of transferring land can be carried out. The director of IIM, Mr. Prafulla Agnihotri and Registrar0-In-Charge of the BDU has signed this memorandum in front of Hemant Kumar Sinha who happens to be the Secretary of Higher Education. Mr. V.M. Muthukumar who happens to be the Vice Chancellor of the Bharathidasan University was also a part of this signing event.
Once the memorandum was signed on Thursday the IIM team started to proceed with its work of construction in the location which is adjacent to the Bharathidasan University. There was a special puja organized so that the works can commence. There were several important people who took part in this function, including Prafulla Agnihotri, the Director of IIM, Board of Governors, Collector Mrs. Jayashree Muralidharan and others.
