Worldhotels ties up with Golkonda Hotels

Germany-based global hospitality major Worldhotels is planning to expand its business in India.

The company had announced its tie-up with Hyderabad-based Golkonda Hotels by planning to run 20 properties by the end of next year.

Currently the firm runs 12 properties including Asiana Hotel in Chennai, The Claridges in Delhi, Pride Park Premier in Gurgaon, The Sahara Star in Mumbai, Amby Valley in Pune and Matthan Hotel in Bangalore.

Worldhotels Senior Director (Asia-Pacific) Christina Spykerman said the firm has opened a new sales office in Delhi and soon it will be opening one in Beijing. The Asia-Pacific region contributes 26 per cent (USD 260 million) to the company’s global sales revenue.

The firm targets business and leisure travellers, conferences and incentive organisers, corporate travel managers and travel agents. It is ranked fourth in the world after Hilton, Marriott and Sheraton.
