125 homeless in night shelter run by MCG
Around 125 homeless people have taken shelter in the night shelter run by the Gurgaon Municipal Corporation (MCG) at Bhim Nagar. This is recorded as the highest as of now. The shelter has been operating from past two years.
A spokesperson for the municipality said they feel good to see that the number of people is increasing and moreover they felt good knowing that even women find it safe to take shelter rather than spending the night in the open or under the flyover.
The spokesperson added that the reason for the increase in number of people is because of the wide publicity they gave and the vehicles provided by the MCG to the NGO which is operating the shelter. The homeless are provided food apart from blanket and mattress.
