23 unauthorised buildings demolished by GHMC
Hyderabad- The demolition drive of unauthorised buildings have been in progress in Hyderabad as the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporaiton (GHMC) officials demolished 23 unauthorised buildings at Anjaiah Nagar and Siddique Nagar near Gachibowli.
This step was taken as a part of the Lokayukta’s directions. Although about 36 buildings were noticed as illegal, GHMC demolished only 23 structures with the rest to be bulldozed later.
Police force was deployed from 6am wherever the GHMC grazed down the illegal structures. However, the locals revolved against this by pelting stones and manhandling the workers. The property owners had innumerable questions for the officials regarding the illegal structures and alleged that they were solely targeted when most of the city areas has illegal structures. A report will be submitted to Lokayukta on December 7.
