Yamuna expresswayDelhi-NCR : The development of seven new townships, which spread over 20,000 hectares along the proposed Delhi-Jaipur Expressway, are to get nod from the Government.

The plan for townships in Manesar, Pataudi and Rewari has been already approved by the Haryana Government, while Rajasthan is expected to allow four new townships in Behror, Kotputli, Sahapura and Chomu.

The townships of Haryana spread over  6,000 hectares whereas the Rajasthan’s townships occupy around 14,000 hectares. Both the projects will get direct access to the expressway.

The proposed Delhi-Jaipur Expressway is expected to cost Rs 12,000 crores, which is in addition to the highway connecting Delhi and Jaipur.

Neemrana is a new city which is being built as a part of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor in the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway. This city will also have half a dozen new towns.

The projects are on the lines of the Yamuna Expressway that directly connects Greater Noida and Agra.

Government will only acquire land for the road project for Delhi-Jaipur Expressway, the company that deals with the contract for the toll road projects has to directly buy land for the real estate development. But for Yamuna Expressway, the government had acquired land fpr both road project and real estate development.

The express way may branch out from Delhi-GurgaonExpressway to somewhere between Mahipalpur and Gurgaon toll plaza. Some portion of the six lane expressway in the capital will be elevated and will pass through Manesar, Rewari and Kotputli.

Reports says that Government of Haryana will disclose the exact location of the projects along the expressway later, although the approval is already communicated to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

These new townships will be a catalyst for the economic development for the region. The infrastructure of the townships also includes trauma centers and restaurants which will be constructed along with the expressway. However, the concessionaires need separate permission for the acquisition of land to build trauma centers and restaurants.
