Subway demanded by pedestrians on Bangalore roads
A subway which was to be constructed near Cox Town and Cooke Town is still delayed further.
The plan for its construction is on papers from past six years and it seems like it has been delayed for yet some time.
There has been at least one accident each month near the Wheeler Road railway level.
Upon asking, railway engineers blame it on water seepage and Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) have been informed about it.
However, BWSSB officials after inspection found ground water the culprit. Now, South Western Railways have alleged that if work does not start then they will drop the subway plan and strat with footbridge construction on the spot.
