BBMP accounts office sealed for delayed work
After a surprise inspection, the office of chief accounts officer of BBMP was sealed recently.
The audit was done by BBMP’s accounts committee and the charges were that the officer was not doing his work properly as many files were yet to be cleared.
Many of the files were gathering dust and were kept untouched from past many months.
There were other instances like many employees had taken loans and paid back but their cheques were being in custody of the department for four months.
Likewise, letter written by the additional chief secretary of the urban department was lying in the office for three months without being taken any action.
No balance sheets during audit could be produced by the department as well.
