Delhi lacking the space to walk, park or drive
Delhi is making more and more space for people to live in by developing vertically, perhaps has not been considering the need for parking, walking and driving space.
With multiple members staying in the same house and owning multiple vehicles is causing vehicular congestion on the colony roads. The colony roads are eternally clogged with vehicles especially during the mornings and afternoons.
The residents are quite agitated regarding this issue as they have to struggle everyday to take out their vehicle from their colony. Also during the afternoons, the teachers, students and bus drivers park their vehicles on the road giving very less space to the commuters.
The residents say that the situation has gone from bad to worse within a span of a few years. Also most of the colonies are experiencing a squirt of population with cozy single or two-floor bungalows paving their way for three- or four-storied builder flats.
This has become a vicious circle of survival wherein the colonies have grown vertically to accommodate number of people but this has been making the lives of people miserable. People are forced to stay indoors during the school hours due to the traffic congestion. This has also resulted in major and minor accidents as well as blockage of residential gates.
