South Delhi gets new road to Faridabad
New Delhi- Now commuters from South Delhi to Gurgaon and Faridabad need not fret about the traffic as the Delhi Government has decided to come up with a construction of a four-lane road stretching from Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road to Gurgaon-Faridabad road.
This project is funded by the urban development ministry with Rs. 597- crore.
The road will measure about 9km and will cater to commuters from Mehrauli, Greater Kailash, Chhattarpur, Saket and other areas. Apart from just providing an easy accessibility, the roads will also avoid traffic jams on NH-8 and NH-2.
The current road which is known as the Mandi road is quite narrow with potholes and an absence of a central verge. However, widening of this road to a four-lane double carriageway will help the commuters to commute easily without any congestion.
According to officials, the road is set to begin on MG Road and will continue through Gwala Pahari stopping at the Gurgaon-Faridabad road. This will be the shortest road to Faridabad from south Delhi. The project is taken forward by a topography survey.
