Residents of Malleswaram form association
Residents of Malleswaram have come together to form a body to address the various problems the locality faces. The Malleswaram Residents’ Welfare Association, now a registered association, was inaugurated here on Sunday.
Sanskrit scholar and director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mathoor Krishnamurthy appreciated the intent behind the formation of the association. “We must serve the community and help each other,” he said.
Make use of RTI
Director-General of Home Guards, Fire Force and Civil Defence D.V. Guruprasad said the locality had seen development over the past few years and correspondingly, problems had surfaced. He asked the residents to make use of the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
Planting Saplings
H. Sreenivasaiah, president of Gandhi Bhavan, spoke about the importance of planting saplings. Association president Gopal Rao said the association would plant over 1,000 saplings across the locality.
