Residents demand a Health Care Centre from CIDCO Mumbai
Residents have long been claiming health centers and considering the gravity of the problem, City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) is planning to open health centres at Kharghar, Kalamboli and New Panvel soon. We will open three dispensaries at Kharghar first and then will proceed to the other two nodes. Although, to give a deadline is not possible at this point of time it will take around five months to cover the entire area,a CIDCO official said.
The CIDCO officials for long have been claiming to provide this health care centre facility to every node in Navi Mumbai. But with the increasing demand they will soon have to get on task to provide a health care centre. Meanwhile, the CIDCO officials assuring that the health centre to come up soon, the residents want quick attention by NMMC doctors in these to ensure that common diseases like dengue, malaria or jaundice are under check.
Residents of Kharghar, Kalamboli and New Panvel demand a health care centre soon in their respective nodes.Common diseases like malaria, dengue and jaundice are spreading rapidly in the absence of a health care centre in Kharghar, Kalamboli and New Panvel irking the residents.
With no basic amenities in these areas, the residents have to travel to Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) government hospital in Vashi or rely on private doctors in their vicinity. As the private doctors charge hefty fees for the check-ups, the respective nodes have been insisting on a health care centre from the CIDCO.
Ashok Patel, resident of New Panvel says, “Residents are paying service charge to CIDCO, the planning agency does not even offer basic amenity that is health care in return. Even at a time, when the diseases like malarial, dengue and viral fever are gripping the city, no blood test drive is conducted at any place. We would like them to pay special attention till a health centre is built.”
