AMC Ahmedabad on an Anti Enroachment Drive
The construction activity in new developing areas on the periphery of eastern Ahmedabad has increased manifold in last three years. There is a huge demand for one and two bedroom houses which is luring many builders to build such schemes on encroached land.
AMC officials pulled down 107 row houses and seven shops in Vatva. Around 30 one-bedroom houses were already built and others were under construction. The houses were for economically weaker sections and the construction was going on for the past seven months.
AMC officials have intensified the anti-encroachment drive. Areas like Narol, Nikol, Khokhra, Ghodasar, Chandlodia, Sardarnagar and Odhav have seen AMC bulldozers razing down structures every alternate day in the past few days.
