Plot Sold Twice in Kolkata entangled with Legal Issues

Kolkata High Court admits that a plot in the Bow Street was sold twice has been entangled with legal issues. On Wednesday the, High Court admitted a petition seeking revaluation of this plot in the Bow Street also mentioned that it has directed the petitioner to serve legal notices to both the owners of that plot.  The advocate Rudram Bhattacharyya, the petitioners advocate has submitted to the court several documents including RTI applications and other concerned legal papers to prove the issues took place when the plot changed hands for the last time in the year 2006.

The advocates main concern was that the plot was not properly estimated the property. The plot originally belonged to CZCRCF (Calcutta Zoroastrian Community’s Religious and Charitable Fund) and reports that any loss traced during the transactions affected the Parse Community in turn, says the petitioner. The plot was originally owned by Jam shed Navroz Guzdar through a court auction in the year 1996. Later the property was handed over to CZCRCF by Guzdar for the benefits of the needy members of the Zoroastrian Community. In the year 2001 Kolkata Municipal Corporation demolished only a part of building in that plot. In the year 2006, this plot was purchased by a company named Prakash Ply Center Pvt Ltd and had paid a sum of Rs, 18, 20,000 per cotta.

Recently, an RTI activist from Kolkata has applied for the legal documents of the plot and also wrote to the Chief Justice of India in concern with the legal issues of the plot. In due course of time the case in concern with Justice Sanjib Banerjee, who directed that the notices to be served on the trustees of Prakash Ply Center and CZCRCF.
