HAREDA Haryana to Declare Energy Conservation Award

Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) has announced this year’s energy conservation award scheme to the successfully managed commercial and industrial institutes to make efficient use of alternative energy sources, to grant a monetary prize.

This October, the HAREDA will be announcing the names of the winners and runners-up for the energy conservation awards, later in the month. This year’s policy also has sought to popularize green energy sources for the industry, and has set up new incentives and subsidy schemes for institutions and individuals opting for solar heaters and solar cells. “We have also introduced a comprehensive notification, which refers to various energy conservation measures to be adopted by all industry and commercial outfits in Haryana,”

HAREDA is declaring a monetary sum ranging from Rs.25, 000 to Rs. 2lakh also included are government buildings which have successfully shifted to Solar Energy in the previous year. “These awards are aimed at encouraging more people to adapt to alternative energy sources like Solar Energy, also this is a good motivation for the people who are considering this shift to green energy,” the officials reported. Large-scale industrial units, which have connected load of up to 1MW, and are utilizing solar power, will be given up to Rs 2 lakh. Whereas, small scale units and commercial buildings like malls and hotels and shopping plazas can win Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 lakh. The nominations are being filed at the administration’s office, the last date for which is October 7.

The HAREDA officials reported saying, “Energy conservation is one of the crucial subjects today, and a lot of work needs to be done in this department if we are break loose of our reliance on conventional fuel, and stop damaging the environment”.
