Chandigarh Municipal Corporation and Civic Bodies proved a failure at Emergency

The Municipal Corporation (MC) in Chandigarh has claimed to formulate 12 teams of public health wing under the supervision of sub divisional engineers (SDEs), to meet immediate emergency complaints especially during the time of heavy rains. However the residents have claimed that none of the government wing had come forward to help them to solve these issues. Municipal Corporation as usual had failed to clear up the drainage system of the city before the commence of rainy season.
Dr O P Verma, president of Sector-20 residents’ welfare association reported saying that the official visited their area meanwhile the residents had to come out to clean the roads. Also there is no cleanliness drive taken initiative over the issues and garbage is thrown on roads and open drains. Mayor Ravinder Pal Singh reported saying that he is very busy deciding over the team meetings along with the MC officials to bring in proper maintenance of the society.
