Mumbai Lacks Proper Infrastructure

No Comments Sub Category:Uncategorized Posted On: Sep 17, 2011

The road surfaces in Mumbai, especially those which are uneven near the main road junctions are equally flooded with heavy traffic. Mumbaikars are spending prolonged hours spending at heavy traffic junctions. The drive from the main Mumbai town to Andheri (W) is a slow ride. The never-ending queues of vehicles at Andheri flyover and Burfiwala junctions, are draining away the commuters time. The traffic to slow down and extending the waiting time from 10 to 16 minutes is found to be common in the Mumbai roads.

The traffic police also admit that the road surface near junctions like Suman Nagar, Chheda Nagar, Goregaon-Dindoshi , Kalanagar, Kherwadi and Gandhi Nagar are deplorable and that brings the traffic to a grinding halt. They agreed that even the junctions of Link Road-Marve Road, Parel TT, JVPD Circle, Burfiwala and Barkat Ali near Wadala bridge needed immediate focus to remove the bottlenecks. The Government agencies said to have spent crores of rupees building the sea link, Western and Eastern Express highways and flyovers over them to facilitate a smooth run but before long, every vehicle gets stuck at certain junctions and signals.
