UP Power Corporation to Fund for Load Shedding
The Regulatory Commission in Uttar Pradesh has taken up a decision that the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation will have to compensate its consumers monetarily for every load shedding long lasting last for six hours. Power consumers from now on are benefited from long power cuts if they are facing prolonged power cuts by the electricity department. One of the Commission officials reported saying that the provisions of the new order passed by the state regulatory commission will be entitled to a refund of Rs 50 for a six-hour power disruption for all the consumer and this compensation will be reflected in the next bill of the consumer.
However the senior officials in Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited reported saying that this step was not new one as these kind of steps were passed long back also. Electricity Supply Code 2005 had the same provisions which has come into action now but it was never claimed to be imposed. There is a dearth in power supply and the power infrastructure needs an overall improvement with the prevalence of dearth power supply.
