Property Tax on High alert again
Many of the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) officials have resigned as the property tax drive is on high alert. They seem to have been listed under flouting norms in concern with the proper tax payment. The traces have been working on a flow to check on the city municipal officials and according to a recent survey it was traced that nearly 50 per cent of property owners were found flouting the property tax norms. Municipal commissioner Manoj Das reported saying that their idea is not to burden the regular tax payers instead to make the cheaters to follow them up strictly.
The SMC officials are on high alert and are on a thorough check on the residential and commercial building owners in concern with their property tax payments at the regular intervals. This has been granted as an add on chance to the tax payers to clear all their dues and only after all these drives are completed the state government will release fund of Rs 70 to 100 crores to Surat Municipal Corporation to carry on with the civic works in the city.
